From Wednesday to Friday last week I ate bananas to see how it would affect the diet. The bananas taking longer to pass made it quite inconclusive and I was already deciding that it was a wash. And then, the fiance says she wants to go out for dinner and that she’d treat, because I usually do. I figured we’d end the experiment with seeing how far back the 4 days all together would pull me back. I was willing to sacrifice a few days of progress for my curiosity and fully knowing that this could lead me to falling off the wagon.
It was the first day I had meat or bread in over a month.
I had grilled steak tips for the fiance on the last day and had a small bite. Even though I cooked it well, my palate for meat alone was changed. It wasn’t as satisfying as I thought it would be. Not even close.
The bread I had was half of a very small and thin thin-crust pizza with cheese and meatballs. I didn’t feel guilty about it at all. Even with the small amount I ate, I felt like I overate. Not in a sick way, like many people warn about, but in a too much food and drink for my shrunken stomach. I know I’ll still like meat if it’s seasoned in someway or part of something bigger.
While it’s obvious that eating pizza every day would lead to weight gain even after the pizza passed, so obviously I wouldn’t do that (ever again in my life…), the results regarding the bananas are inconclusive because I didn’t give my body enough time to show and average weight loss or gain. I was okay with losing some ground, but not okay with risking a lot of it.
I’m currently dipping carrots into mustard and heard that broccoli goes great with mustard as well. For something really quick I’ve been taking a half back of shredded carrots and adding it to a half bag of pre-mixed salad, making it heavier/more filling as well as make it go farther as a salad.
I think I’m going to try another experiment to get back on track, because I don’t what my daily average weight loss to drop below 1.00 lb. It will consist of only eating one or two vegetables per week and switching between that and what I’m doing now with Tabasco alternatives every other week. This way the diet is super easy, still has variety, and will keep me away from temptations.
I’ll still be allowing myself to go out to eat for both the fiance’s birthday and Valentine’s day (if she has work off that night).
Feb 5th Broccoli and Cauliflower
Feb 12th Salads with Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumbers, and Carrots (and V-Day dinner)
Feb 19th Tomatoes, Peppers, and Onions
Feb 26th Salads with TCC and fiance’s birthday meals
Mar 5th Cucumbers and Carrots
Mar 12th Salads with TCC
Mar 19th Beans and Corn
Mar 26th Salads with TCC
Apr 2nd Potatoes and Eggplant
Apr 9th The homestretch…
I may change my goal from 180 lbs to 190 lbs, only because it would be a good time to start working out seeing as my main goal will then be dropping my body fat % and increasing muscle mass and tone anyway. Plus, I’ll still be able to say I lost over 100 lbs.
In either case this will hopefully work to reach the goal in time for Florida. I have this tank top the fiance got me that I’ve been waiting years to wear.
